Accessibility
Vitality Compass is built to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA as its target standard. This page describes what we have tested, what we know is still imperfect, and how to reach us if something gets in your way. It is a statement of our ongoing work — not a certification, audit report, or a guarantee of legal compliance.
Latest self-assessment: 20 September 2026.
What we have tested
- Keyboard-only navigation across public, member, practitioner and admin pages
- Skip link, landmarks, heading order and per-page document titles
- Sign in and sign up forms, including error summaries and autocomplete
- Symptom intake, including the keyboard text alternative for all ten body regions
- Booking, consent, intake forms, settings and profile forms
- Practitioner schedule and availability, admin applications, appointments and call logs
- Colour contrast, 200% zoom, 320 CSS pixel reflow and reduced-motion preferences
- Automated axe-core checks in development on each route listed above
Accessibility features
- A “Skip to main content” link appears as soon as you press Tab.
- Every control can be reached and operated with a keyboard, with a clearly visible focus outline.
- Status, severity, availability and approval are always conveyed with text, not colour alone.
- Forms keep visible labels, describe errors in words, and tell you how to correct them.
- Animation and automatic rotation stop when your device asks for reduced motion.
- Pages reflow to a single column at 320 CSS pixels and at 200% zoom.
Known limitations
- Video visits run inside an embedded third-party meeting window. We can name and describe the frame, but we cannot control the accessibility, captions or keyboard behaviour of the provider's own controls.
- Phone visits are placed through a third-party calling provider. Call audio and its in-call controls live outside this app.
- Live captions and transcripts are only available where the meeting provider offers them; they are not yet enabled on this account.
- Voice input uses your browser's built-in speech recognition. Availability and accuracy vary by browser, and every voice field can be typed instead.
- The 3D body map is a visual enhancement. It is never the only way to choose a body region — the labelled buttons beneath it do everything the model does.
- Bluetooth and camera vitals demonstrations depend on your device and are not clinically accurate.
- Screen-reader testing so far has been done with automated checks and manual keyboard and semantics review, not yet with a full pass in every commercial screen reader.
Getting accessibility help
If any part of Vitality Compass is hard to use, tell us through the support section of your account settings. Please describe the page, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology or browser you were using, so we can reproduce it. If you cannot reach the settings page at all, ask any practitioner or administrator you already work with to raise it on your behalf.
We do not publish a separate accessibility phone line, and this page deliberately avoids inventing contact details.
